Windows 10: Why does Win10 keep on and on asking what app?

It seems no matter how often I set my fav browser, media player and alternative to Office, it just keeps on, and on, and on, seemingly randomly, asking what app do I want to open such files with?

Worse, it KNOWS, and asks "Do I want to keep using....."

YES!

Heck YES!

Stop asking!

Geez.

Is there some setting to tell it to stop asking this question? I've tried the "Always use this app" tickbox and it's spitefully ignoring that.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
