Windows 10: Why doesn't my PC let me connect to the Wi-Fi via Password?

I was running Windows 7 before and for some reason, the OS won't allow me to access available Wi-Fi connections via entering a security key. Now that I am in Windows 10, it still won't let me access wireless Wi-Fis by just using the password. This is the only thing that shows up in my screen and that I am forced to use an Ethernet cable. Is there any way to fix this?

Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password


I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

1. Launch Control Panel.
2. Click "Network and Internet."
3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
5. Click "Wireless Properties."
6. Click the Security tab.
7. Check "Show characters."
8. Enter the password in "Network security key."

Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?

 

WIN phone 8.1 update -> wi-fi doesn´t work

Yesterday I installed WP 8.1 (Nokia Lumia 625). After updating my wi-fi doesn´t work anymore. The phone finds networks, but can´t connect. Where is the problem?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to delete the connected Wi-Fi device and try adding it again.

• 
  Type View Network Connections in the search bar and click on the same.

  If your Wi-Fi device is listed, right-click on the device and click on
  Delete.
  
• 
  Now, try connecting to the Wi-Fi and check if it prompts for the password.
