Windows 10: Why doesn't Windows 10 Pro let me defer feature updates anymore?

Being able to defer feature updates for up to 365 days was something I benefited from in the past. I'm on a brand new machine now and out of the blue Windows told me I needed to reboot to finish the installation of something. Following the reboot I noticed the machine was now running 20H2; thankfully with no issues. I went to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update and noticed the section that let me set how many days to defer feature updates for was missing. Is this gone forever?

Deferring updates does not work.


It's "Defer feature updates" not defer updates. In older builds I think it said Defer upgrades? It doesn't stop regular Windows updates. Click the blue "Learn More"

• Some Windows 10 editions let you defer upgrades to your PC. When you defer upgrades, new Windows features won’t be downloaded or installed for several months. Deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates. Note that deferring upgrades will prevent you from getting the latest Windows features as soon as they’re available.

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Scanner doesn´t work anymore after last Windows 10 update

As many people on the internet already are discussing, their scanner doesn´t work anymore after the last Windows update. But there seem to be no solution.

My Scanner starts making noises, as usual, and then i get error messages: "Communication with the scanner is not possible"

Is there a workaround for that?
