Why Files open with "Read Only"?

Every time I open a Word file, it opens with "Read Only", and when I make a change I have to save it with another name!!!

Also another problem is when I open Photos, I see multiple copies (duplicates) of the same picture. It looks like Windows keep bringing in my pictures from my iPhone every time I open my pictures, or I don't know what is happening. I am spending hundred of hours deleting duplicated pictures... rather deleting 5 times every picture!!!

Shouldn't Microsoft automatically delete every duplicate??

Please, any help with the two (2) problems will be appreciated.

It's extremely time consuming to fix the my files (Read Only) and deleting multiple copies of my pictures.

    :)

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

PowerPoint file crashes PowerPoint upon opening

since this happens in some of the computers only, suggest that you open the file on working computer and copy everything and paste to a new powerpoint file.
most of the time it works to me. *Smile Why Files open with "Read Only"? :)
