Windows 10: Why is a file in OneDrive on the web available in my local PC even though I uninstalled...

I uninstalled OneDrive from my PC and only access it online. A couple of days ago, I logged into OneDrive online and edited an Excel file. I just noticed that the same file appears in my local Excel 2021, in the list of files under the "File" menu. The file has a link to an https:// d.docs.live.net URL, and when I click it, the file opens up locally even though I'm not logged into OneDrive online.I know I never downloaded that file from OneDrive. OneDrive is not synced to my local PC. How, then, did a link to that file appear in my Excel? How can I prevent this from happening with other files?

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

Avoid getting OneDrive search results for local files

In Windows 10, how can I avoid getting search results that link to files online in OneDrive (and open a web browser when you click them) when those files also reside locally? I want just the local files, so that when I choose a result, the local app opens.

On Win10 RS3, how to make all OneDrive files available locally? The option "make all files available" seems to only make placeholders available. How do you get the real files to be automatically downloaded to the local machine, not just on demand?
