Windows 10: Why is my PC audio changing from say my Monitor Speakers to headset when screensaver kicks in?

As the subject says.


I have an LG 27" 4K monitor with speakers, I very rarely use it, but every now and then I do.


When I do, I will listen to music through it and lie down, but the moment the screen saver kicks in, the audio is going back through the headset. I can find no setting that does this anywhere.

1. Do you want to use your external speakers for the audio instead of the monitor speakers?
2. Are you hearing the audio both from your external speakers and the monitor speakers?

Meanwhile, you may try the below steps to change the playback device and check if this helps.

1. Select on the Start button > Type Sound in the search box > Select
   Sound from the list of results.
2. Go to Playback tab > Select your Sound System Device that you want to hear the audio from > Then click on
   Set Default.
3. Restart the computer once and check if this helps.

'normally' , for that sort of thing , IF it shows up as an audio device under 'playback devices', you make your game speakers the 'default' device and your headset the 'default communications device'.

Depends if the chat headset shows up in the list though.
