    CPU Fan runs constantly

    Hi,

    We would like to know the following information to assist you better regarding CPU fan issue.

    • Does the fan runs constantly fast or do you hear any noise?
    • Have you tried updating all the drivers of your computer?
    • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before posting this concern? If yes, what are those?
    • What is the memory/disk usage in task manager?

      You may check this by typing Task Manager in the search box
      and hit Enter. Check which application
      is taking more memory or disk usage.

    GPU and CPU cooling fans at startup.

    Since switching to W10 pro on a new build, two months ago, the CPU and GPU fans have been running at full speed for 1-2 seconds at startup. The graphics card is about a year old RX580 8GB and the M.B. is new Gigabyte Elite X570 with an AMD 3600. Sometimes
    they run for 1 second and sometimes longer 2 seconds. I never had this on my old W7 P.C. with the same graphics card. All the drivers etc, are the newest.

    I did first buy an ASUS M.B. but the graphics card blocked the small fan for the memory so I sent it back. The fans also behaved the same with this M.B. as I tried it for a a day or two.

    The CPU fan is set using the M.B. software, but not the graphics card which uses AMD's software. It is like something is not sarting this software until the system has fully booted, or is overiding it.

    On my W7 machine I had W10 in duel boot and it never caused this to happen. It was not W10 pro, though.

    Anyone have any ideas as what could be causing this?

    Fan making grinding noise

    Hi rdldn

    If your fan is making a grinding noise, that would be an issue with the fan . . .

    If your fan is running at top speed, then something on your system s using up CPU or GPU

    Open Task Manager (Ctrl +Shift + Del)

    Leave that open on the Processes Tab to monitor your system

    When your fan is very busy, is your CPU or GPU at a high percentage?

    (GPU - depending on your version of Windows 10)

    If so, click on the relevant column header, so the arrow faces down

    What are the top 5 processes listed?
