Windows 10: Why is Windows 10 waking up at times?

    Why is Windows 10 waking up at times?


    Every night I put my PC / Windows 10 to sleep.

    But every 3 to 4 weeks, I awake at around 4am to hear my PC running.

    Anyone have any ideas what could be causing my PC / Windows 10 to wake up from sleep by itself every few weeks?

    And is there a solution to stop it waking up from sleep by itself?

    Power settings

    My computer goes to sleep at the set time. However the waking up does not work properly. Sometimes the computer wakes up all right. Sometimes it does not wake up; when trying to wake up the computer reboots itself. It's totally random when it wakes up and
    when it does not. So, it appears that Windows 10 is still in beta stage.

    This is very annoying and strange. With Windows 7 I have
    never experienced this problem. I wonder why in Windows 10 this feature is still broken? Therefore in my other computer I still keep Windows 7 installed. At least one computer works as expected.

    Nothing in events that I can see.

    The timing seems to suggest that it may be from Windows Updates.

    For now, you could uncheck Allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer at the scheduled time to see if that may be the cause.

    The next time it happens, check your wake source logs again to see if anything may be logged for it.

    Thank you Brink, it was set for 2am in Maintenance and also the box that says "allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer" was also selected, which is now deselected.

    From now on I will do a manual maintenance check.
