Windows 10: Why is Your Phone Companion so buggy?

I've used it on and off for quite a while. When it works, that's great. And then when it stops, nothing. Last night I used it and this morning, nothing. The app on the computer cannot talk with the app on the phone. I did the QR thing and the app on the computer was stuck at 60%. Why? No reason, just nothing.Why did Microsoft use a team of such junior programmers to write this thing?Just a pain. A total pain.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Phone companion app and check if you are facing the issue

To uninstall the phone companion app please follow the steps below:

• 
  Type phone companion in the
  search box.
  
• 
  Right click on
  phone companion and click on uninstall.
  

Once it is uninstalled, you can reinstall it from windows store.

Your Phone Companion is working but often weird

Just more and more "historical" messages. Now, messages I write on the input panel on the right appear in the list on the left but the message I wrote doesn't appear on the right side panel, just more historical messages.

At least the thing seems to work. Sort of two steps forward and three to the left and back.

I wish someone who was a real coder would write a decent app like this, one that was, uh, tested and didn't have an idiotic name like "Your Phone Companion". SIGH.

I'm having lots of difficulty transferring photos and videos on my iPhone 6s to my laptop running Windows 10. Nothing that I have tried works. I've tried the Windows Photos app but that doesn't work. It's buggy.

I've also tried using Windows File Explorer which identifies the iPhone as a device but it doesn't see several hundred photos on the drive. So that's buggy too.

(One thing I haven't tried is iTunes because that is a horrible application.)

I've seen some information suggesting that I can use Phone Companion for Windows 10 to transfer photos and videos on my iPhone 6s to my laptop running Windows 10.

First of all, is this correct?

If so, what is a secure site for downloading Phone Companion for Windows 10?

Or is Photo Companion buggy also so I should just not try to use it?
