Windows 10: Why Microsoft Safety Scanner shows that it found several infected files while running, but...

I run Windows Security Full Scan and it found virus. Detected: Trojan:JS/KryptoStealer.GA!MSR Alert level: Severe Status: Active Date: 12/4/2022 7:55 PM Category: Trojan Details: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker. Affected items: file: C:\Users\alex...\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\jzuk2njj.default-release\cache2\entries\7319007B7AEC769B258CEB6E6FC55884A83DC47F I clicked on "Action -> Remove", but infected file was not removed. I could see it next day inside the directory. I tried to do it again, file was not removed. Next day I manually removed whole

Microsoft safety scanner finds no virus?

Microsoft Scanner works in steps.

So at first stage it will detect what may be an infected file and it will add that to a list. This is the number you see when you see the scanner progressing. These are not actual infections, just suspicious files.

Once the scan is done the safety scanner will match the suspected files with the most recent database of threats and then tell you the actual infections on your system. If the last number is 0 it means no actual infection was found.
