Windows 10: Why the recent disappearance of Homegroup?

Why has homegroup disappeared from my older desktop PC after win10 v1803, but my "yesterday new" laptop has a homegroup setup However it still can't communicate to the desktop, just like my old laptop did spontaneously with the 1803 "D-grade"?
