  1. Why the Task scheduler is not starting at the time of login option?

I want to run "Net use" to assign a network drive to NAS unit. I can do in the explorer. However, command line can not see it. So, I used Net use to assign the drive letter Z. Later, I use xcopy to backup my files

I created Task in task library of Task Scheduler

I can run the task manually

But, it does not start during startup or login

I followed a couple of articles, but no luck.

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    SP

    :)

  2. Unable to run Task Scheduler

    Hello Varun,

Let's determine the cause of the issue. To get started, I'd like to get the following information:

    • Is this your first time to encounter this issue? If so, did you make any changes to your computer's configuration prior to this?
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • Can you also please confirm the current build of your Windows 10?

(Type winver into the Cortana search box, then hit
      Enter
      .)

Meanwhile, I suggest that you try starting the Task Scheduler through command line. To do so, please follow these steps:

    • Open Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type this net start task scheduler and hit Enter.

We're looking forward to your response.

  3. Task Scheduler service will not start.

Thank you for updating us. If Task Scheduler will not start, we suggest that you restart it. The service might be disabled that's why the task will not run. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot Task Scheduler.

    • Click Start menu.
    • Type Services in the Start Search box.
    • Right-Click Services, and select Run as Administrator.
    • If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click
      Continue.
    • Right-click the Task Scheduler Service and select Restart.
And have you tried running the System File Checker scan as an Administrator. For more information check this
article. You can also perform DISM after performing SFC.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

  4. Why the Task scheduler is not starting at the time of login option?

How to setup Windows Vista/7 Task Scheduling at Login

I quickly put this png together to explain how to setup a Task Schedule for GPU-Z to launch it at user logon with full UAC priviledges while also minimizing to system tray at the same. I've also added a second trigger for the stupid (like me *Big Grin Why the Task scheduler is not starting at the time of login option? :D), who always accidentally close the app instead of minimizing it.

For restart on change Process to function correctly the following must be done:

Restart if Task Fails must be enabled
If the task is already running DO NOT Start a New Instance
Add a New Trigger after the Main Trigger (lower priority) with the condition "When the task is created or modified"

The PNG below gives all the details to setting the Task Scheduling up.

To Launch Task Scheduler go to Start -> Admin Tools -> Task Scheduler
or run taskschd.msc /s from search box. Then just Create a Task and fill in the details.

Alternatively I've included an Exported Task which can be imported with the Import Task option. Unzip the file, and Import the XML then change the paths/usernames to suit your system. Either way take similar amounts of time. I included the exported task to help if necessary but it's best to create a new task when possible.

This method will bypass the UAC prompts at login, and because tasks are always sent to the system tray on Run this works around no sys tray support too *Wink Why the Task scheduler is not starting at the time of login option? ;) W1zzard loves when things are fixed without him having to fix them *Big Grin Why the Task scheduler is not starting at the time of login option? :D
