    • Have you tried the suggestion provided by Sharath Srinivasa? If yes, what was the result?
    • Are you getting any error message/code while playing movies?
    • Are you using Windows media player or some other media player?

    Faulty Windows Media Player

    Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

    It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

    why won't windows media player play movies

    Media Player plays movie on DVD but does not play movie that is on disk (HD).

    The Media Player (ver. 12) or Media Center Player plays movie that is on a DVD but does not play the movie on the hard disk.

    This is a problem on Win 8.1 pro and Win 10 home.

    It works on Win 7.

    The movie is not in a library - is this a requirement?

    How do I get the Media Player or Media Center to play a movie that is on the hard drive?
