WI-FI Error : A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken

I keep getting this error where the Wi-Fi disconnects from the internet. It keeps complaining that there is no LAN cable plugged but there newer was any LAN cable plugged in at all. It restarts the adapter and all is fine for an hour.

    - Windows is updated.

    - The latest driver is done for Wifi adapter.

    - My Wifi is also running the latest firmware.

    - Wifi is 10 feet away.

    - I'm using 5GHz.

    - When not stopping it works totally fine and I can download stuff online at 20 megabyte / second.

I see some errors in Event Viewer:

    ---------------

    (1)

    WLAN-AutoConfig 10002

    WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.

NoneModule Path: C:\Windows\system32\Rtlihvs.dllWLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.

I'm not sure what to do about this.

    Here is the Win10 report.

Plug an Ethernet cable into this computer Not run

An Ethernet cable looks like a telephone cable but with larger connectors on the ends. Plug this cable into the opening on the back or side of the computer. Make sure the other end of the cable is plugged into the router. If that does not help, try using a different cable.

6 Problem with wireless adapter or access point Fixed Fixed

If you're connected to a hotspot or domain network, contact the network administrator. Otherwise: 1. Unplug or turn off the device. 2. After all the lights on the device are off, wait at least 10 seconds. 3. Turn the device back on or plug it back into the power outlet. To restart a router or access point that has a built-in battery, press and quickly release the Reset button.

  3. "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken" - keeps coming up

    Dear Nyima Yonten,

Thank you for continuing to follow up with me on this issue. I have been pretty busy, and using other pc s to get my work done, so I didn't try this fix until today.

I followed the steps of "Method 1"- it resolved the problem for
that period of operation (after the re-start); but after shutting down and rebooting, the problem returned, exactly as before. The troubleshooter resets the network adapter, but also lists as a problem, "A network cable is not properly plugged in or
    may be broken."

Just to re-state the problem: when I start up this laptop, half or two-thirds of the time, it cannot connect to my wi-fi (at close range, where other devices connect without any difficulty) without re-setting the network adapter... including via the methods
you suggested: by uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software.

Thanks for trying to help me. Does this sound like a hardware problem?

WI-FI Error : A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken

Windows 10: A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken

I've just built my own pc yesterday and I'm having problems connecting to the Internet via ethernet cable.

    These are my pc's specs:

    PROCESSOR - Intel core i7-6700k

    GRAPHICS CARD - Msi gtx 1060 armor 6g ocv1 nvidia geforce gddr5

    MOTHERBOARD - Msi z710a gaming m5

    I've gotten two error messages:

    1) A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken

    2) "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid ip configuration (this seems to be fixed by changing the ip address)

For the network cable not being plugged in/broken, I've tried using a different cable and it works on my laptop but not on my new pc. I have no Internet in my pc to update the drivers so that is out of the picture

Am I missing anything? Please help
