Windows 10: Widows Explorer

I receive and error message each time I access Windows Explorer

Ünable to load DLL with the exception HRRESULT:0x8

:)

 

How can I remove this virus remnant?

I was also going to suggest Autoruns.

Check to make sure it isn't attaching itself to explorer. It should be the 3rd thing listed in Autoruns, the listing for the Shell. It should just be Explorer.exe. If it is anything else, that might be your problem.

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

Cannot open File Explorer in Widows 10

Have tried the steps listed and the only one that helps is where I sign in as a new user and then when I got back to my account, file explorer works OK for a while. After a time file explorer will fail to respond again until I sign into the other account
and run it or do a reboot.

I can still file explorer at anytime by right click on window icon.
