Windows 10: WIFI Cannot Be Turned on Manually

My parents' computer windows 10, dell earlier yesterday would not allow connection to our wifi services despite showing our network as an option for connection and having connected before without issue. I reset the network adapters, which did not work. I went to network settings and had the computer remove and reinstall the network adapters. After the computer reset from this action, I could no longer manually turn the wifi on in the wireless settings. I tried to see if I could set it to "turn wifi on in an hour" and this didn't work either. Unfortunately, I do not think the adapter was reinstalled, as I looked for it and could not re-find it. I went and restarted the wwam or whatever it was called and this did not fix my issue either. Does anyone have any idea where I could go from here, especially if my adapter is likely still missing? I am working off a secondary computer to troubleshoot this issue.

Cannot turn on manually the wifi button

Hello! I have a sony Vaio with windows 10 and suddenly I cannot connect to wifi. I have tried to do it manually but the button doesn't seem to work (it does not turn on). I used the Ethernet cable and I have internet but only when I am connected to it. what
could I do to fix the problem?

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.

 

WiFi refuses to turn on

A quick question before we proceed:

Is your computer airplane mode is turn on?

I suggest you to go to the follow the below step and check if you’re able to toggle the Airplane mode:

• 
  Go to settings and click on Network & Internet.
  
• 
  Go to airplane mode and toggle.
  

I also suggest you to check if the function key for Wi-Fi works or not. Kindly
Refer to your computer manual to check which function key do so.
