Wifi connectivity issues in Windows 10

I updated my Dell Inspiron 15(3521) from Windows 8.1 to windows 10 a few days back. Wi-fi connectivity shows limited. But the ethernet works fine. Please help me on this. I get the following error message upon troubleshooting.

"The connection between your access point, router or cable modem and the Internet is broken.
The network gateway is accessible, but windows could not receive network traffic from the internet."

Please help me on this issue.

    :)

  3. WiFi connectivity issues in windows 10 Home SL for Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn wifi adapter

I have a HP pavilion e017tx laptop upgraded to windows 10 Home Single Language. Off late i have been experiencing issues in connecting to my home wifi network. But:-

    a. All other devices in the house (Android,iOS and other windows 10 laptops) are able to connect to that network. So this makes me suspect issues with my laptop driver.

    b. My laptop gets connected to this other portable router (ONLY) for some reason. This makes me suspect that maybe the issue is not in my laptop wifi adapter.

So what is the issue here ?

Why can't i connect to my home wifi network?

I have tried in vain the following:-

    1. Network Reset from windows 10 settings menu

    2. Update the wifi adapter driver from device manager

    3. Troubleshooter. (Never helps, does it?)

    4. Netsh winsock reset in cmd in admin mode followed by reboot

    5. enable disable wifi adapter

    6. router on/off

    7. changed the wifi channel of my home network.

is there anything more i can do ? I checked the windows WLANAutoConfig logs in Event Viewer (Before network reset. Means my home network was a "Known Network" back then.

    It showed:

Connection Mode: Automatic connection with a profile

Failure Reason:The driver disconnected while associating.

Post network reset the log shows:-

Connection Mode: Connection to a secure network without a profile

Failure Reason:The specific network is not available.

    Need help with-

    1. First want to know if this is beyond repair ? Wifi connectivity issues in Windows 10 :p

    2. If not then how to repair !!!!!!!!

Hello Ztruker, thank you for the reply. I have updated the driver and have checked it to be compatible with windows 10. But the problem still exists.

  6. Ztruker Win User
So the driver you now have is this one:

    Open a Elevated Command Prompt:

Press WIN + X to open Start context menu.
    Select Command Prompt (Admin).

Paste the following into the Command Prompt window, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & reg query "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" | find /i "proxy" >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close. Post results in a reply here.
