The authentication failed error that you encounter when connecting to a local WiFi can be related to a change on the device firmware caused by the recent update. As an initial step to fix your concern, we suggest that you reset the connection by following
these steps:

• Select Network & Internet.
• Click on WiFi and select Manage known networks.
• Under the list of networks, select the affected WiFi connection.
• Select Forget.

Once you're done, reconnect to the WiFi and check if the issue persist.

Public WiFi Not safe.

This exploit has been around for a long time. You just had to do it manually. Pretty much you do this:

-Get a valid account on the site your victim is on
-EDITED cause too descriptive: Few simple steps with cookies and you're in
-????
-????
-Log in as them

Very simple, and can be done with almost no info about victim but account name.
