Windows 10: Wifi not showing up

I woke up to go on my laptop. And I noticed I wasn’t connected to the wifi. I went to connect it, and there was no wifi option only Bluetooth, flight mode, battery saver, focus assist, and accessibility. I then went to settings to connect, and it said “not connected. You aren’t connected to any networks”.i clicked I did a little bit of research and found that I have to perform a network reset. I tried it multiple times, and it just didn’t work. I trouble shooted, resetted my network, and it still didn’t work, anyone know how to fix it?

Turn WiFi search off, when you don’t need it, by taping on WiFi quick action button or by managing your
WiFi notification by following these steps:

• Slide your finger downwards on the screen.
• Press All settings.
• Press Network & wireless.
• Press WiFi. and then select Wi-Fi Sense.
• Turn on/off "Connect to suggested open hotspots".
• Uncheck "Show a notification banner when action is needed from me".

Let us know if it works.

 

Wifi Networks not showing

On my Laptop if I wanted to change the wifi connection I would always see a list of the available networks when I selected the Wifi icon on the task bar.
Since the last major update to Windows 10 I find that when I select the wifi icon I only see the current connection





To see other networks within range I have to open the 'Network settings' and choose 'Show available networks' - then they show up.





Does anyone have any explanation for this - or possibly a 'fix' to show them all from the taskbar again.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
