Windows 10: WiFi on Sony Vaio will not work with Windows 10

Hello Microsoft community. I have a Sony VAIO model SVE15115FXS laptop. The original OS was Windows 7. After the unfortunate upgrade to Windows 10, a lot of functionality was lost in my computer and the biggest issues is that the airplane mode is always toggling back on and the Wi-Fi is not enabled no matter what I do. I have tried almost every method suggested in threads here and online for getting the Wi-Fi to be enabled and to even look for a network. I have reinstalled a fresh Windows 10 OS, watched videos, followed instructions... still no Wi-Fi. I am completely speechless at the level of frustration I have encountered in this matter. Nothing seems to work. Apparently the upgrade to Windows 10 causes this issue and it has nothing to do with the actual network adapter itself. Can anyone please help with some real solutions?

Windows 10 Driver Updates for Sony VAIO Still Nowhere to Be Found


For my case (Sony VAIO Tap 11)... it is there in the list of models.

... but it turns out i don't need that upgrade 'driver' anyway. The special 'upgrade' mode did nothing to my machine prior to the actual upgrade, and after completing the upgrade it merely installed one single update (to Sony Control Center I believe) that can be downloaded anyway from Sony's website. Working like a charm now running on Win10 (except for a few Intel display driver problems which are not specific to VAIO the way I understand it)

Any other devices attached to your computer because sony isn't providing drivers for any device.

Anyway if you wish, I would suggest you to take a system Image of windows 8 first.Then perform the upgrade.In case if windows 10 doesn't work you can restore activated windows 8 within minutes.

PS if you are running windows 8 it is recommended to update to 8.1 ASAP.

 

Windows 10 for Sony Vaio

I have reserved Windows 10 for my Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 8.1. I understand that after 29 July it will download to my machine and I will be given the option to upgrade immediately or do so at a later date.

I have today received a notification from Sony advising me not to upgrade to Windows 10 until the drivers are ready as below

Microsoft is offering a free upgrade* to Windows 10.

• The offer applies for qualified Windows devices which are upgraded during the first year*.
• Sony will not be providing support for all models that qualify for this upgrade.

Although Microsoft is offering the Windows 10 upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you wait to install it until the drivers & installation instructions are available for your VAIO PC.

My question is do I need to cancel my reservation for Windows 10 completely. Or do I allow it to download in the background and wait until instructed to install it by Sony?
