    WiFi Security

I'm running Windows 10. I'm using a DLink DIR-1935 Router for WiFi. This router has a default security protocol setting of "WPA/WPA-Personal", which translates to WPATPIK and WPA2AES. DLink has explained to me that both protocols are on at the same time or are at least visible to anything that tries to read them. Unfortunately, Windows 10 only sees the WPATPIK setting and believes that my router's security is not secure even though the WPA2AES is on and functioning.

As a result, I'm constantly getting messaged that my security is outdated. DLink doesn't have any way to select WPA2 by itself on this router. There are four computers in the house running Windows 10 that are connected to the same network via the same router, but mine is the only one that gets the "outdated" message.

Is there any way to stop this? It seems to interfere with my WiFi connection at the worst possible moments.

    :)

That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

my son laptiop wifi disconnect after 5 minutes

    • If you have an identical laptop try comparing the wifi and security settings of the one that does not disconnect with the one that does. If you find any differences change the settings of the one that does not work to the one that does.
@Samuria : If you have any suggestions please reply.

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?

OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?
