Windows 10: wifi

I got my dads 6year old Toshiba satellite laptop with no password. I had to change some settings in the cmd promt to get into it, Now that I,am into it and went thru and cleaned it out it run,s great.The problem is it wont stay connected to my wifi. I have gone into cmd prompt changed a bounch of settings still kicking me off wifi. I went into power options and max out setting still not working . So I went into power mgr and ticked off don't let this pc turn off wifi,nothing.I unistalled all drivers and reinstalled all updated drivers still getting kicked off. Got comcast to get me new updated router & modem.nope that didn't work. So I went into new router and change some power settings and I even changed the channel I was on to a higher one.STILL NOTHING WORKS.I have a 6 year old asus laptop in the same room that has no wifi problem at all. They are both about 4 feet away from router & modem.Is there something I,am missing here or should I replace wifi card this is driving me crazy.OH before I forget I have also changed out network adapter settings.no go.I THANK YOU FOR SOME HELP WITH THIS MATTER.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.

• Have you installed any drivers for the WiFi card?

Try updating the drivers and check if the issue persists.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to update the Wifi drivers.

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Select the device manager.
• Right-click your Wireless/Wi-Fi devices.
• Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
• Restart the machine and check if the issue persists.
