  1. Will Microsoft ever allow for tiles in start menu to not have a bloody color fill?

I 'm having enough how ugly they all icons look in the middle of blue (chosen example) squares. System icons, like the redesigned white ones look good on black. Why does it have to be a middle man, the bloody square?

I want no squares. Tired of squares and windows. I just want the icons of my preferred apps(programs) to be shown. Everything else must die a fast painless death Will Microsoft ever allow for tiles in start menu to not have a bloody color fill? :) This is done better by both Apple and the Linuxes. They encourage the individuality and personality of programs. Microsoft has it backwards. They are too in your face, they don't step aside.

If I open the start menu preferably in fullscreen all I'm looking at is a chessboard of blue squares on black. Blue being arbitrarily the chosen colour in the settings personalization area. Don't mind the color though. I very much wish they all looked like what one sees on their smartphone's screen. Make the icons rounded corners, sharp corners, no corners Will Microsoft ever allow for tiles in start menu to not have a bloody color fill? :), it doesn't matter, just let them be and draw no color around them, no garden, no grave, don't bury them, let them breath, let them be them. Let the Photoshop or the Excel icon be its own icon. Even Windows 8 did it better. There, whole tile with whole colour served one purpose: to deliver notifications or live previews, snippets of info. There is no such purpose in Windows 10. There is no such purpose in the icons of Photoshop, Autodesk, Blender, Office etc. Those icons have one single freaking purpose, to announce us where we can access our beloved installed programs. I have a hard time distingushing shit when it's all blue. Are they MS afraid we won't find a damn icon unless it's marked as a damn blue square? What is this the old paved alley in an old historical town, I have to follow the slabs as not to fall in the mud? I would very much like to tread on my monitor when they all appear in front of my eyes.

Where do I sign a petition against this crappy design at Microsoft? Does the feedback still work?

Give Office 2016 Start Menu Tiles Colored Backgrounds

After upgrading to Office 2016, I have noticed that the start menu tiles lost their colorful backgrounds and were reverted back to the accent color. Here is how to fix that so the tiles have colored backgrounds.

This guide shows you go to go from this:
    Attachment 113103
    To this:
    Attachment 113105

    Step 1
Navigate to your Start Menu folder
Typically can be found at: "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"

    Step 2
Find the shortcut for one of the Office suite apps and rename it to anything you want.

    Step 3
Reopen the Start Menu, the page will refresh and the tile will now be colored (assuming you have pinned it on the front page)

    Step 4 (Optional)
Rename the shortcut back to its original name, the tile will still remain colored.

    Enjoy *Wink

    start menu tile colors

I've scanned to find information on changing the tile colors and found nothing. Is there a way to change the start menu tile colors so they're not the same? Windows 8.1 had different color tiles but Windows 10 has most of them the same.
    Thanks

Will Microsoft ever allow for tiles in start menu to not have a bloody color fill?

Control the color of individual start menu tiles

In Windows 10, the start menu tiles all have the same background color, determined by the color theme you choose.

However, the Microsoft Office tiles (e.g. Excel, Word) each have different colors - Word is blue, Excel is green, etc.

Is there any way to set individual colors on other tiles? E.g. could I set Visual Studio to be purple and Evernote to be green?

To be clear, I don't want to control the overall theme - e.g. I don't want all tiles to be green instead of grey - I want to control the tile colors individually.
