Windows 10: Will my Intel Core i7 5500U Processor be supported by Windows 11 in the future?

Hello,PC Health Check says that my "Intel Core i7 5500U processor is not currently supported by Windows 11". Currently? That that mean that there is a chance that it will be supported in the future? I have read on Microsoft Forums that the processor compatibility list is final though. That would be a disgarce.RegardsMichel

"New" 12th generation Intel Core i7-1255U not on "Windows 11 supported Intel processors" list

This seems like to prevents me from install Windows 11 22H2 patch 5017321 on my brand new Acer Aspire 5 Intel Core i7-1255U, that was OEM-preinstalled with Windows 11. After multiple attempt on Windows Update, no suggestion on new update appeared. Tried with "Windows Update Catalogue" but got a message that prevent install (Like: This installer not applicable for your device")

Note: I was able earlier via Windows Update to update earlier pacthes and drivers for this laptop but as mentioned above not the latest one.

Is the reason for my trouble the absent of "my "processor" in Windows 11 supported Intel processors list and will it be presented or newer on that list?

Strange, because "my" processor is has newer generation Intel Core i7 than what is on that list now.

 

Intel CPU not supported in Windows 11

I have Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.90 GHz and it is not listed as supported by Windows11 upgrade for Intel cpu match https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...pported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors Is there a way we can expect future support for these processors by Microsoft for Windows 11 upgrade? What is the time frame? After all Intel can not dump all our CPUs without extending support, losing the market by buyer confidence

 

When will Windows11 add support for more Intel i7 processors?

I currently have an Intel Core i7-4500U processor in my laptop (older, but still works great with Windows10). I purchased this laptop in an attempt to future proof myself; better processor, better chances of upgrading in the future. This does not seem to be the case with the Windows 11 upgrade. My understanding is that Windows11 currently supports most Intel Core i3 and i5 processors. For some reason, only a small number of Intel Core i7 processors are supported. Unfortunately mine is not one of them. Do the Intel Core i7 processors have a flaw which prevent them from functioning with the Windows 11 operating system? or... Did Microsoft somehow overlook a very popular processor when designing Windows11? Will additional i7 processors be supported in the near future?
