    Hi,

    Will there be a problem w/1909 update & Office 2003 (Word & Excel only)?

    By problem I mean Office 2003 is very old but its all I need for a WP/SS. Office 2003 is working fine & only use on my PC. Don't communicate with anyone outside my PC.

    Will this W 1909 disable or delete Office 2003 & what about the OTHER updates mentioned? I will try to install another older program: Fireworks2 after I finish studying how to do it. Is there anything I should know about this particular update. I have spent time going thru the W10 forum &
    other sources & noticed some W10 updates were problematic.

    Please advise.

    Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) - Error 0x80096004

    Hi Mary,



    I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.



    This issue might occur if computer is trying to update Office 2003 software.

    I would like to inform you that all the application except Windows 10
    default apps will be removed when you performed a Reset of the computer.



    To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

    • Have you checked whether Office application is present on the Control Panel program list or not?

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to check if Office program remnant is present in the Program list or not.

    1. Right click on Start Menu.

    2. Click on Programs and Features.

    3. Check if any Office related programs are present or not.



    Also I recommend you to temporarily prevent update for Office 2003 through Windows updates.

    WIN10 and Office 2003 Pro

    If your Office 2003 apps do not appear in the list, then you can use Option Two, step 3 from that tutorial and browse this PC to find them.

    Choose Default Apps in Windows 10 - Option Two

    Office 2003 replacement, free, not OO.

    I need a replacement for Office 2003, but preferable not OpenOffice.
    It needs to be free, internet-independant, and has to run on slow hardware. (An old PIII Celeron laptop @ 600 MHz with 192 MB of RAM, to be precise)

    Any suggestions?
