Windows 10: Win 10 1903 One Drive & Microsoft Account

My desktop PC with Win10 1903 has problems with One Drive & Microsoft Account Signing in starting

yesterday. Normally the One Drive will be signed in automatically when the computer is started. Yesterday

it couldn't. The cloud icon was with a blue circle with 2 white circle arrows on it. Then i used the following

approach to try to fix it:


1. Exit One Drive

2. Go to Control Panel

3. Click on "Windows Credentials"

4. Choose " One Drive Cached Credentials "

5. Choose Edit, and enter One Drive ( Microsoft Account) user name/password

6. Start and launch One Drive again

After this it become worse, and and the cloud icon with only one black line across. I tried to sign in , it

didn't respond. Then I tried to sign in to my Microsoft Account, and some Microsoft related websites

such as Microsoft.com, Answers.Microsoft.com, Account.Microsoft.com, etc---they all didn't respond !

Today I tried to use Google Chrome to open some Microsoft related websites successfully. I can also

sign in to my Microsoft Account by using my standard email address & password, while i went back to

Win 10 Edge to try the same websites, the problems were still there.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can help me with the problems above !

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Please provide us additional information to assist you better:

• Are both the accounts are Microsoft accounts?
• Have you tried to login with local account with out password and check if the issue persists?
• What exactly do you mean by "my partners name and email are now linked to my side of the hard drive and hers to mine"?

I suggest you to perform the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: I suggest you to Run Microsoft Account Troubleshooter on both the accounts and check.

I would like to inform that if both the accounts are Microsoft accounts, then you cannot delete the password for any of the account.

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown
