Windows 10: Win 10-2004 x64 1394FW sounds

Audio quality it's really bad.

I do sound wave files editing using external audio gear. I have an combo USB/fw1394 audio mixer. worked fine under previous windows platforms"os" but now in my new first PC built with the above specs my external hardware gear is not working properly it sounds really bad the sound quality is terrible static hissing crackling sounds from both output USB/1394fw ASIO drivers.

I heard win 10 ditched 1394 support. But, how come even the USB 2.0 is faulty, sounds just as bad....

Losing sound Win 10 x64

I understand that you’re having issue with sound, I will make sure to help you with this issue.

This issue may occur due to damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates, and problems with your sound card. damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates, and problems with your
sound card.

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• Right click on the volume icon which is on bottom right corner.
• Click on playback devices and highlight speakers.
• Then below click on properties.
• And then click on Advanced Tab and below click on
  Restore to default
• And then Apply and click on
  OK

(Steps are given for Windows 8.1 but same applies to Windows 10 as well)

Method 2 : Uninstall sound adapter driver from the Device Manager, restart the computer and check if that helps you.

• Press Windows and X keys together.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Sound, video and game controller, expand it, right click on the
  sound device and select Uninstall.

Restart the computer after the successful
uninstallation of sound Device.

Kindly follow the below given steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Method 2:

You may also update the Audio driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps.

• Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
• Expand “Audio Driver".
• Right click on the drivers and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set.
