Windows 10: Win 10 + 2012 R2 and Roaming Profiles

So... I'm trying to set up roaming profiles on Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Dell PowerEdge 2900. The server machine is a standard config, raid, dual chip, etc. The WIndows 10 CLient is a standard machine as well, no fancy or off the wall hardware configurations there either.


Whenever I try to login to my domain server with Roaming Profiles enabled, it turns around and says that Win 10 cannot find the server on the network and then loads the previously saved local profile for my account. Can someone please help me with this? I've read that Windows 10 is having a really hard time with roaming profiles.


As a side note, I was able to log in to my roaming profile through a Windows 8.1 virtual machine.

Problem with roaming profile V6 - Win 10 14295 and Win 10 14316.

Hello all,

Strange problem, i want to know if more Insiders got this problem in (VM) Win 10 14295 and (VM) Win 10 14316.

I created an (VM) DC with Server 2016 Technical preview 4, Also reproduced this error on my production (VM) DC server 2012 r2.

I created an test user on server 2016, after first login no problem with roaming profile, even when i am sign out and sign in. Still no problem.

When i restart the Windows 10 VM, i got this message after sign in.





In the eventlog i find this error:

User profile Service 1521.

Translation "There was a problem with your roaming profile you have been logged on with your previously saved local profile. Please see the event log for details or contact your administrators."

Got the same problem, when i create a another test user on our production DC server 2012 R2, with new roaming profile location on another server.

In the eventviewer of Windows 10 i find this error:

Translation

"User profile Service 1521.

DETAIL - the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. "

Anyone else with same problem?

 

Roaming profile problem with windows 10


Hi.

I have installed a new win 10 client, and sign in to my domain running on Windows 2012 R2 std edition.

But i have a problem when the user logon.

The new profile patch is Automatic created on server
\\servername\profile$\username.v5

But when i logoff client, there coming nothing files into this patch.

My another Win 10 client, Work fine.

W SERVER 2012 R2

HOW CAN WE CONNECT OUR HOME OFFICE W 10 PRO PCs TO OUR OFFICE W 2012 R2 SERVER? WE WANT TO WORK FROME HOME OFFICE AS LIKE AS LOCKAL CLIENT. PLEASE SUGGEST.
