  1. Win 10 audio issues

    Win 10 HP Pavilion laptop

    Background...

All the machine does is internet, iTunes, and photo storage. I had an identically spec'd laptop that unfortunately was damaged after a few short months. It served its purpose well so I bought another. This one is a giant let down.

This device is as delivered. I don't go F'ing with settings. I am ignorant for the the most part with this stuff.

These problems have happened since new and also seem inconsistent, sometimes it works fine, other times it will do this same dumb shit for a while and magically fix itself for a while.

    Problems...

    1) When using either of two bluetooth devices (Harmon Kardon Studio 4 or some $30 earbuds from Target), the audio will completely stop between two different sources. (Say one Youtube video tab to the next or from a iTunes song to an adorable cat video on Reddit) It shows as connected to the BT device, and if you switch back to the internal speakers via the toolbar you still get nothing.

    2) Say iTunes is open and using the internal speakers. You switch on the toolbar to either BT device. Nothing changes, the toolbar shows the audio should be on the BT device but either the internal speakers continue to play or you get no sound at all.

In either case you must close and restart the audio source application in order for the audio output to change.

I want to dump this laptop into my pond and buy another, please help.

  2. Audio Issues and Windows 10

I uninstalled the audio driver for the speakers. Now when I look at the Device Manager list under "Audio Inputs and Outputs" the Speaker is missing (it lists the other 3, headphones/line in/microphone). When I did Restart, it had no effect on the list.

How do I get the Audio Manager list back to where it was before? I have a HP DC5800 desktop; it was running win 7 64bit until I upgraded to win 10.
