Windows 10: Win 10 Desktop shuts down randomly

Hey guys,

So a couple months ago my I got a VR headset and when playing games VR games on my computer it would shut off randomly. I figured that my computer was at some points just clipping and restarting. It didn't happen with all VR games and didn't happen all the time. However, this is when it started happening. I started to notice when building landscapes in Unreal Engine 4 it would clip and restart with no warning and with no error from windows other than your computer was unexpectedly shut off. When classic WOW came out it would happen everyone in a while, so at this point its happening once a week. I recently got back into Starcitzen, which is a very graphically intense game and it would happen every time I played that. Now I am afraid to play graphically intense games and just stick to minecraft.


After doing research i found that there could a number of different reasons I've tried

- Scanning for corrupt files and fixing them

- Changing my power settings to less buggy ones

- I've stressed tested my GPU for 10mins it sustained 82 degrees for 10 mins without crashing

- I switched out my cpu cooler and now have lower temps but still restating


I thought that it was my GPU since it only happens when doing intense things but its not. I am very lost and I don't know what to do.

-intel i7 4790k not oc'd with a cooler master hyper 212

-mobo is mis z97 guard pro

-GPU is a PNY geforce gtx 1080 (blower so temps are to be expected)

-16gbs of hyper x ddr3 1600MHz

- psu is a corsair RM650

Laptop randomly shuts down after latest Windows 10 update

Since the latest update of Windows 10 my computer decides to randomly shut down after every couple of minutes. First the screen goes black, then the sounds stops and after quite a while the power also goes down.

Obviously I though of cleaning the fan with a big vacuum, as suggested on My Windows 10 Computer Randomly Shuts Down . However, after doing this, the shutting down goes even quicker. I cannot even properly log-on before the shutdown takes place.

What should be my next step?

Ps. The computer is quited aged (roughly 3 - 4 years). The battery is dead enough such that I always need to have it plugged in an outlet. It might just be "done for" but I'm hoping to revive it for just a little bit more.

 

Win 10-Randomly shutting Laptop down

Since my upgrade a few days ago-from Win 7 to 10 it has been nice yet, when I go through the start menu to shut the computer down, I select shut down, but it restarts the system. The other issue is it randomly shuts off and will not allow me to power the
system up for 10-15 then it goes through the initial start up process as if it were shut down..curious as to if anyone else is experiencing this and is it fixable or should I downgrade to the original win 7 version I had

 

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
