  1. Win 10, Home 64 Bit, ( Ver 1803 OS Build 17618.1000)

    Hi,
the HD of my computer (divided in two DrivesC: and D: , 3 Partitions) Partitions with bootsektor has many errors. There are about 13 Bad blocks and a number of Sektors are also defect. My computer is working well , when I dont restart or swith it off/on. Bei restarting it beginns mith repairing (CHKDSK, Pahse 1,2......) and it takes a long till it starts. It says it has reapired, but nothing is repaired.
I have one bootable USB-Stick mit the above Version auf Win 10, prepared by using Rufus. I have already used it to install WIN 10, on my old Win 10. But the new installation, without formatting the disk new, made nothing better.
I have a backup of all my datas. I have also a old backup of my system with bootable DVD on a external HD.

    Now I have following questions:
    1. When I format my whole builtin HD, are then bad blocks and sectors outsided so that these are invisible for computer? Can I use my HD normal so that (as HD is not defect) there is no need to start the Chkdsk for computer when I switch on or restart my computer? Can I use my computer normal, though the bad blocks and sectors are still on HD, but invsible for Computer.

Naturally I must make new Partition and new Drives, without having any tools. How I can build on my HD new partitions and new drives with bootable sector.

    2. Can I then install WIN 10 from my USB-Stick on my nacked HD, as I have no old Win 10 anymore.

    :)

    Upgrade Windows 10 32-bit to 64-bit.

You have to do a "clean install" of Win 10 64 bit. There is no "upgrade" process from 32 to 64 bit.

Did you have Win 7 Home or Pro. There is no "free upgrade" from Win 7 Home to Win 10 Pro. You have to do that upgrade in at least 2 steps:

Win 7 Home to Pro to Win 10 Pro

    OR

Win 7 Home to Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro

The 32 bit to 64 bit upgrade is a separate additional step.

Run the WinVer command. What Version and Build do you have?

If you have Version 1803, many people have reported "accidental" upgrades from Home to Pro by MS. But that "upgrade" doesn't work!

Upgraded - Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS to Win 10 and Received Win 10 32 bit OS- How to Fix

When I upgraded a desktop running Win 7 Pro 64 to Win 10, I selected installation of Win 10 64, however, system information now reflects that I have Win 10 32 bit and an x64 based processor. What steps may I take to re-install Win 10 - 64?
