  1. Win 10, Home 64 Bit, ( Ver 1803 OS Build 17618.1000)

    Hi,
I have already a threads due to my defective Harddisk. I am including two attachments and have following questions:
You can see the the defective sectors all are in the Beginning of HD. Can I reformat the HD so, that all badsectors are in an Patition which is never used bei the computer.
I think that the bootsectors is OK. My present C: is only used to 10%. So that I dont need so much space on the disk. When it is possible to use the HD normal then I must paly the WIn 10 from my USB prepared by Rufus.
In my last theard I cane to decision to buy another computer. But when it is possible to make the defective part of HD invisible for Computer when I make new partions, the it is also a solution.
When it is possible, how I should make the partitions so that that bad sectors are outsided?

    :)

    Upgrade Windows 10 32-bit to 64-bit.

You have to do a "clean install" of Win 10 64 bit. There is no "upgrade" process from 32 to 64 bit.

Did you have Win 7 Home or Pro. There is no "free upgrade" from Win 7 Home to Win 10 Pro. You have to do that upgrade in at least 2 steps:

Win 7 Home to Pro to Win 10 Pro

    OR

Win 7 Home to Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro

The 32 bit to 64 bit upgrade is a separate additional step.

Run the WinVer command. What Version and Build do you have?

If you have Version 1803, many people have reported "accidental" upgrades from Home to Pro by MS. But that "upgrade" doesn't work!

Upgraded - Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS to Win 10 and Received Win 10 32 bit OS- How to Fix

When I upgraded a desktop running Win 7 Pro 64 to Win 10, I selected installation of Win 10 64, however, system information now reflects that I have Win 10 32 bit and an x64 based processor. What steps may I take to re-install Win 10 - 64?
