Windows 10: Win 10 New SSD Drive

Reinstalled Win 10, Installed new SSD Drive to computer. Temporarly disconnected existing Harddrive. Set Bios to new SDD drive for start/Boot. Reconnected harddrive. My question is that I have duplicate files in Partitions/Drives. Can I now delete/format the Harddrive now? Thanks

Cannot create recovery drive usb from Win 10 OS on new cloned ssd?

I have been trying to create a recovery drive for my Asus 703 laptop running win 10. I cloned the previous 256 gb ssd to a new samsung 500 gb ssd and wanted to create a recovery drive and cannot (stalls or get message recovery files not there) so want to repair the win 10 OS on the new drive. I still have the original 256 and the usb ssd connector so wondered if I could somehow use that on the Asus laptop by connecting it by usb to create the recovery drive that could be used to repair the 500?

As I'm not a techie but have some knowledge so step by step please how to go about it once 256 ssd in drive case connected by usb to laptop?

If not there is apparently a process to use a usb with new Win 10 OS downloaded from MS to repair the Win 10 on cloned 256 drive?

Again step by step how to do that would be appreciated?

Install of Win 10 from old HDD to new SSD

My PC has a WD 1 T HDD as the primary drive with Win 10 installed. There is also an 2nd older WD HDD for data storage purposes if ever needed - unlikely.

I recently bought a new 500 GB SSD drive. I would like to install my WIN 10 on the new SSD using it as the primary drive.

To install on the new SSD, would I unplug the WD 1 T HDD and install the new SSD drive on the MB and then install Win 10 on the SSD.

After the above, I assume I then reconnect The WD 1 T HDD. With the OS on the New SSD, will the apps and programs that are on the WD HDD operate or will I have to reinstall them on the new SSD As well how do I delete Win 10 from the HDD - do I simply delete the files or delete the partitions or just don’t bother. The WD HDD a was not even close to being full and was bought for faster access.

Any suggestions on how to get the new SSD to work properly and windows off the old WD HDD so it does not interfere with the new SSD would be appreciated.

Thanks for good suggestions. Yes-cloning old ssd to new ssd and then installing 10 is what I planned. Keeping Win 7 on separate drive hadn't occurred to me, and is something for me to consider.

BTW-I assume that I could not install win 10 directly onto the new ssd w/o cloning win 7 onto it first? If not, then I may do a clean install of WIN 7 onto the new drive, leaving everything on the old SSD till 10 is installed.
