Windows 10: Win 10 on a 2013 netbook

Hey all! So I've gotten my hands on the 2013 Asus F102B netbook of a friend. It suffered the infamous black screen and he offered it to me if I could fix it. A 35€ mainboard plus new thermal paste and about 16 hours of Windows updates later here we are.

After everything was done I noticed that even with the most barebone Win 10 installation (after reset and updates) the RAM is basically pinned in the 70s to 80s percent range when idle. And since it's DDR3L on board it can't be upgraded.

It's running an AMD A4 - 1200 and 2 GB of RAM, was shipped with Win 8 and received the free upgrade to Win 10 later on. But the poor thing isn't really having the specs for the challenge obviously.

I was going to swap the HDD for a new SSD anyway but am also looking if anyone had a few tips on what I could do to optimise Windows for a bit more performance and headroom.

Another idea I had was to use the new storage and install Win 7 instead of transferring the current installation. I've still got the installer on an old USB drive handy and keys seem to be widely accessible and quite cheap online.

It won't be used for demanding work anyway, just a scorekeeping programme for playing darts and maybe playing some radio in the background. So there's no heavy lifting required but I would still appreciate it being a bit faster and more snappy.
