Windows 10: Win 10 printer "driver is unavailable"

I had to do a reinstall because of a hard drive failure. Once it was up and running I tried to install my printers. Now no printer works. I have four printers, all of which ran fine in my other install.. I'm running the same version (windows 10 pro 64 bit) same mobo, ram and cpu. Only thing that have changed is the hard drive. I even replaced it with another drive exactly like I had (samsung evo 850 pro).


Now every printer I put in the system (even over network) claims driver is unavailable. I have removed the drivers, uninstalled what windows picked up (which worked before) uninstalled the USB hub and anything with the name printer and the names of the printers.


I have went to the sites (factory sites, not driver.hacker.buyme sites) from which the printers drivers are located (ie. Epson workforce 4550, brother mfc-j6710dw, samsung scx 4729fw etc) and tried to reinstall the drivers. Windows then pops up an error claiming that it's not for the os I am installing for. All the drivers are for windows 10. I have double checked to make sure the printers still work (two are networked to other office computers running windows 10. They had no problems..


Strange thing is the scanners on all the Multi Function printers work fine. When I connect the USB cable, windows see's them, claims that it is installing drivers (bottom right pop-out) and then claims that it's good to go. Any ideas would be very helpful.. Thanks in advance..

Win 10 printer "driver is unavailable"

This same problem cropped up after recent WIN 10 update was a[[lied. I had no problems wit my HP printer prior to this update. The printer shows driver unavailable. However with windows Fax and scan tool I can scan documents on the device. have completed
several bouts of troubleshooting with HP and no problems found. I have deleted and reinstalled printer and driver several times and still "driver unavailable".

I have another PC with 10 and it communicates fine with printer - driver is available. I have not had any problem from that work station.
