Your GUID is mentioned, in this WSUS server thread, in the same context as you have described above:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...=winserverwsus

Are you distributing updates (or attempting to do so)?

Not intentionally. In Choose how updates are delivered, I have 'When this is turned on, your PC may also send parts of previously downloaded Windows Updates and Apps to PCs on your local network...' turned off, so my PC shouldn't be sending anything out. Could this be a bot?

Check the disk activity the next time it flares up and post the results.

In the meantime, hopefully someone with fresh ideas will chime in to assist.

No, I believe it just uses the bandwidth to make the download faster..

Well, if following the trend, it should start up Saturday again. Will post the disk activity as soon as I see it running. In the meantime, thanks, everybody, for you continuing support.

    Back tomorrow.

Have you checked you update history for failed updates? It may try to re-download the updates over and over, which could be what you're seeing.

Nothing Saturday but running again this morning. Checked disk activity and believe that WSAPPX might be the culprit. Disabled updates for and turned off the Windows Store using GPEDIT. Let's see if this stops the transmit.

    Back later.
