Windows 10: Win 10 Pro install to Lenovo Q150 now with 32-bit Win 7 Home

I am getting ready to install Win 10 on my little Lenovo Q150 IdeaCentre that came with 32-bit Win 7 Home.

It's easy enough to install Win 10 on a new SSD and go ahead and upgrade to Win 10 Home, but I'm wondering if I can go to Win 10 PRO 32-bit by using a never-activated Win 8 Pro license key I purchased but never installed on any machine.


Anyone done this successfully, and/or is it possible to do so?

Upgraded - Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS to Win 10 and Received Win 10 32 bit OS- How to Fix

When I upgraded a desktop running Win 7 Pro 64 to Win 10, I selected installation of Win 10 64, however, system information now reflects that I have Win 10 32 bit and an x64 based processor. What steps may I take to re-install Win 10 - 64?

 

Will this work with going from Win 7 Pro 32-bit to Win 10 Pro 64-bit?


I wonder if there is any problem for going this route with installing Win 10/64-bit on a computer that had Win 7/32-bit (without ever installing Win 10/32-bit)?
Basically I am thinking about the process described here: How to Switch From 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bit Windows 10 while skipping the middle step, - by using Shawn's solution.

 

Changing from Win 7 SR1 32-bit to Win 10 54-bit

When I got Win 7 directly from Microsoft, I got both 32 and 64 bit versions. Don't remember the logic, but I installed the 32 bit version. I now have Win 7, SP 1, 32-bit OS installed. Now I want to go to Win 10 and have several questions:

1. Can I go from what I have directly to what I want? (From 32-bit Win 7 to 64-bit Win 10)

2. Will going to 64 bit destroy my installed s/w and require a new install of everything?

3. Would it be easier to install Win 10 32 bit then switch to a 64 bit installation?

4. When I went from XP Pro to 7, I had to do a complete install of all s/w after putting the Win 7 OS on my computer, Will going from where I am to a 64 bit version of Win 10 require the same "rebuild from the ground up"?
