    Win 10 Pro issue

When copying files to a folder, if there is a file in the destination folder with the same name as the source file, Windows used to bring up a Copy File dialogue box that offered three options: 'Copy and Replace', 'Don't Copy', or 'Copy and Rename'.

I am now using Windows 10 Pro, and note that the Copy File dialogue box offers only 2 options: 'Copy and Replace' or 'Don't copy'.

I don't have a 3rd option for example, to 'Compare info for both files' - and therefore to keep both files and rename one.

To put this in context, in our paperless office, we store individual emails .msg on the network so all team members can access and read the emails. However, email message threads conversations all have the same subsequent titles, ie, they will be named Hello.msg; RE: Hello.msg; RE: Hello.msg; RE: Hello.msg... etc, and we need to keep each of the subsequent messages as the content may change between one and the next especially if there are attachments [which don't get repeated in subsequent msg], or if we edit the content of the emails elsewhere within the thread. I would therefore like to keep each of the files, with a suffix eg. a number in brackets.

Is there a way to achieve this while dragging and dropping the email .msg from Outlook to the File Explorer folder? I know I could work around this by dragging the email .msg to an intermediate location eg. the desktop, adding the suffix to the name, then dragging the renamed file to the folder, but this seems to be a backwards step when it used to happen automatically.

    :)

I suggest that you use the TechNet forums for this particular issue. This forum is consumer-oriented (Win 10 Home, Pro). TechNet is IT oriented (Win 10, Pro, Enterprise, MSDN, Server 2012-R2, etc.).

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
