    Win 10 Pro Windows Security Smart Card Prompt


    After an update my computer now incessantly asks for a smart card at least 4 times after I login to Win 10. How do I turn this off without disabling the smart card in gpedit?

    Wifi smart card prompt

    I have to use USB token (smart card) to login to corporate Wifi network.

    After last system update the prompt for smart card PIN doesn't show up and I'm unable to connect to Wifi network.

    Is there any way to force the prompt to show up or any other way to access the network with the token?

    My system: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

    Version: 10.0.16299 Build 16299

    Enabling Smart Card Readers on Windows 10 Pro?

    Windows 10 Professional will not natively allow for using a Smart Card for a sign in option. Does anyone have any ideas on how to enable this, like a 3rd party option, or a group-policy edit, IDK?

    It is available on Win 10 Ed. and Win 10 Enterprise, however, they are not Windows 10 Pro. This is not a question for concern on making a P.C. more secure, this is mainly for a niche project more than anything.

    Sorry to know that the Windows 10 prompts Smart card for Administrator rights. I will certainly help you.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable the Interactive Smart card prompt and check if it resolves the issue.

    1. Right click on Start menu and select
    Run.

    2. Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

    3. Navigate to Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security


    Options.

    4. Locate Interactive logon: Require smart card
    policy setting.

    5. Double click on the Policy and select Disabled option.

    6. Click on Apply and OK to save changes.

    7. Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the system.
