Windows 10: Win 10 Search bar's text automatically renaming from "Type here to search" to just "Search"

Hi. I have recently been facing this problem with my copy of Windows 10 21H2, the search bar's example text used to be "Type here to search" but then it suddenly got renamed to just "Search". I tried renaming it back to 'Type here to search' using the registry settings and succeeded, but then it again got renamed back to Search after reboot. Even though this problem seems to be harmless and the OS continues to function properly, I'm still kinda concerned. Is there a way fix this? Thanks.

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

• Can't type in Windows 10 search bar.
• Can't type anything in Win 10 Apps (Cortana, Search, Calculator, Feedback, etc.)

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?

Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?

 

Firefox Search Box Text

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to find the option to disable the browser from showing previously entered text into a search or text box. For example, the User Name box on this forum, I type "O" and OrbitzXT pops up. Other text in other search boxes has been popping up as well. I am using Firefox 3.6, I've tried clearing histories and such and it still remembers text in the boxes. Any ideas how to disable this? I don't see any such option in Tools -> Options.
