Windows 10: Win 10 search function

Does anyone know of a commercial ap that will search win 10? The built-in search is far too erratic.

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?


Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?

 

Disable Search Function

Greetings all,

I need to disable the Search function in Windows 10 Pro. Upgraded from Windows 7, where the Search function was listed as a feature and could be disabled as one through the Control Panel. Apparently not so in Win 10 as it's not listed as feature.

I can disable Cortana and using the Search function to search the web,but in need of disabling the Search function entirely. Computer is in a public environment and needs to be locked down. The unit has only one purpose and that is accessed through the browser.

I am unable to find a way through the Policy settings and through PowerShell.

Search function from right margin in Win 8.1 lost when I upgraded to Win 10.

Search function from right margin in Win 8.1 lost when I upgraded to Win 10.

Now I can't type a Word file name or specific word and get a list of all of
my Word documents or Folders with that word. (I
hate Cortana - so I'd like to avoid using it). I went from XP to 8.1 and found either platform much easier searching for my files (old and new) than in Win 10.

Is there a way to restore the 8.1 search function in Win 10 or get something that replicates it? Thx.
