Windows 10: Win 10 update 2004 - Cannot print document

I have an issue printing to my wireless printer.


My computer is dual boot with two versions of Windows 10 installed, 2004 and 1903. After updating one installation to 2004 I cannot print to my Brother DCP-J315W printer any longer.


It appears that the document is sent to the spooler and is almost immediately removed from the queue without actually printing.


I can also see this by moving the mouse over the printing icon in the system tray, moving the mouse away then immediately moving back over the icon. At first it will display 1 document in the queue then immediately after moving the mouse it displays 0 documents in the queue.


I have tried diagnosing the printer by downloading and running Printerdiagnostic10.diagcab. It reports "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem".


I tried uninstalling the printer drivers and then re-installing, to no avail.


I tried removing the contents of C:\Windows\System32\spooler\Printer, there were none.


I tried restarting the spooler service.


I am attempting to print a .pdf file using Edge, Chrome and Firefox, they all fail.


I can successfully print using the same document and browsers to my Samsung CLP-510 USB printer, but not the wireless Brother DCP-J315W printer.


If I boot into Windows 10 1903 I can successfully print to the Brother DCP-J315W using the same browsers and document with no issues at all.

Windows 10 printing issue while printing picture from Document files.

To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• When you say that "I cannot print a picture from my Documents file", are you trying to print a picture present in a word document file or trying to print a picture on Windows 10?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided in the Microsoft Help Article about printer related issues and check if it helps.

custom scaling documents for printing in windows 10.

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

• How you trying to scale the documents?
• Which application you are using for scaling the documents.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

1. Press control key + p.

2. Now select the number of pages you want to scale while printing.

3. Click apply.

4. Now click on print.

Please try the above suggestions and let us know the status of the issue.

 

Unable to print Excel documents on Windows 10.

From the above description, I understand you are unable to print Excel documents on the computer running Windows 10.



Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Did you check if you are able to print other system documents or webpages using the printer?
• Did you check if the printer is visible under Devices and Printers?

You will be able to print documents and web pages from the Printer if the device is online or showing working status under
Devices and Printers.



If haven’t tried, I suggest you to check if you are able to print documents other than Excel documents or webpages using the printer.



Also check if the printer is listed under Devices and Printers
by following the steps below:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Devices and Drivers and select the top most search result.
• Under Printers, check if the printer you are trying to print from is listed.
• If yes, print a test Excel document and check if the device works.
