Windows 10: Win 10 update to 1902 fails with error Oxc1420121

Having received an email from MS to update my desktop to build 1903 I twice attempted to run the update but it failed about a third of the way through with the above error, and was told to contact MS for assistance. I tried to use the trouble shooter but it was of no help and directed to try again getting the same error. When I went to the "virtual agent" I could not do so because the message area was grayed out. I'm currently using version 1803, build 17134.90, 64 bit, home edition.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

I am trying Eagle 51's suggestions now. Windows Update troubleshooter found a bunch of errors and fixed all but one.The update is trying to download KB4025339 again. I'll see what happens. At step one troubleshooter finishes with one error unresolved "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected-Not Fixed". Windows update stalled at 0%.

At step 2 same troubleshooter error. The KB finished a new download failed to install.
Did step 3 KB has downloaded but fails to install.

If Eagle's suggestion doesn't work I'll try EdTittel's suggestion

I have noticed that the latest update for my nvidia drivers has failed to update. Wondering about that!

 

What is causing Prime 95 to keep failing all the time in the first 10 minutes?

...and what will be your next step if THAT fails to make Prime stable? More volts?

I would think you would want to be using the LEAST amount of volts possible (for heat and longevity issues). That's why I suggested you use a more scientific approach to troubleshooting your instabilty. Meaning, IF your RAM passes 10 loops of MemTest with no errors at the speed you are trying to run, AND Prime continues to fail, THEN consider giving a bump to NB, FSB and Vcore (in that order).
