Windows 10: Win 10 update to 1903 failing without error

So i've been looking to utilize the Xbox games pass (for PC) as announced at E3. For this i'd like to use the new Xbox app which appears to require W10 1903.

I've looked up the update and windows update on my machine says that i'm updated fully on 1803. i then manually used the "Update Now" installer from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

which downloads, then installs and finally reboots my machine. after the machine restarts, it is still version 1803.


Any suggestions?

Whatever happened to redistributable .exe/.msi for updates?

I'm not a PC Novice, so have tried the obvious basics, no need to fully spoonfeed me an answer

Win 10 1803 to 1903 update

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1903 a while back, but my Desktop running Win 10 version 1803

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1903 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Hello,

I tried all suggestions up to upgrading to 1903 from

step 1 in fixes. I also tried step 2. None of the fixes

solved the problem. I am not willing to upgrade to

1903 - not during the first month of availability! Do

you take me for a fool? Windows Update continues

to be the most unreliable component of Win 10.

 

Can't open Windows Sandbox Error 0x80070002


Microsoft has acknowledged this issue now:

Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002”Windows Sandbox may fail to start with "ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)" on devices in which the operating system language is changed during the update process when installing Windows 10, version 1903.


Affected platforms:

• Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Next steps: We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in late June.
