Windows 10: Win 10 updates KB4537572 and KB4550945

I have been trying to update my Win10 system for the past week with these updates KB4537572 and KB4550945 from the Windows Update utility. I keep getting the message:

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later.

I am running build 1909, 64 bits.

It tries again later, I tell it to retry, and nothing but failure. My machine has been doing but this for the last 48 hours. I have tried all kinds of cleanups, fixes and utilities, none work. I have rebooted multiple times. I have tried rebooting in safe mode with and without networking, Update will not load when I do that.


On top of this a program that I use regularly stopped loading 2 days ago. No warnings, no messages, it just stopped loading. It still runs on my other Win10 machine. Win10 also isn't properly recognizing a USB device; a plug and play MIDI with built in drivers Win10 doesn't recognize as an audio device.

This is getting annoying and frustrating.
