  2. laptop win 11 incompatible, but attempts to reinstall at every reboot.

I Know my laptop is NOT compatible with windows 11.

(I have no TPM2.0 option visible in bios)

    My Processor

    ( Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50Ghz)

    whilst being above min. spec,

    is not currently supported either.

I therefore, obviously have NO intention of attempting to upgrade to Win 11.

The machine has other ideas !

Auto-download has already downloaded, and attempted to/failed to install win 11, multiple times.

Reading various comments elsewhere, At this point I should have been presented with the option:

"Do not install windows 11" .

I have not had this option, or I would have clicked on it !

I do still however need to download windows 10 updates, at least whilst still supported.

Automatic Downloads has been manually set to "off", in registry, and saved as such.

Machine continues to ignore this, and is constantly downloading updates, regardless.

Constantly Stuck in the following loop:

"Windows was unable to update to windows 11. Reboot machine to roll back update".

If I then hit reboot, and leave it alone to restart, it then stays on the updating (With timer spinning) screen for hours.

If I hold PWR Button, to kill it. then manually reboot, it then restarts without this loop.

I shouldn't need to do this every time I want to get in !

How can I get out of this stupid loop?

which update contains the windows 11 upgrade? There is nothing in the "Uninstall an Update" list, suggesting which one it is.

Can someone offer a step by step please, which DOES NOT include the usual "Pause updates" routine, as that method has been tried, unsuccessfully.

    Regards.

Windows Displays Wrong time after every reboot

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your effort on this. As you have mentioned that the Windows Time Service is set to Manual and sometimes is switched off, I suspect this could be an issue with the Windows Time Service. I suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Re-register Windows Time DLL file

I suggest you to try re-registering the Windows Time dll file and check if that helps in resolving the issue:

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type regsvr32 w32time.dll and hit
      Enter.
This will re-register the dll files for Windows Time service and will help you sync the time.

Method 2: Re-register Windows Time process

The Windows Time file (W32tm.exe) is used to configure the Windows time service settings. Re-registering the service will run the time service as a service and adds the default configuration to the registry.

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following commands one-by-one and hit
      Enter
      :
    • net stop w32time
    • w32tm /unregister
    • w32tm /register

Method 3: Sync Time using command prompt

You can use command prompt to sync Windows time. Follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following commands one-by-one and hit
      Enter
      :
    • net stop w32time
    • w32tm /unregister
    • w32tm /register
    • net start w32time
    • w32tm /resync

If the issue persists, you may have to check the CMOS battery, which is responsible to store the Time. As you have mentioned that you bought a new laptop, I wonder it could be under warranty, so I suggest you to get in touch with the manufacturer of
the computer or place of purchase and get the battery replaced.
