    Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade error 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

    Hello,

I have been trying to upgrade my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 to Windows 10 multiple times with always the error at the end of it...

I've tried a lot of things that I found on google, here on this forum, and multiple other forums, but none of those worked.

So the install/upgrade of Windows goes on, it reboots 2 times the computer with always lots of loading and installing percentages, the usual stuff. And then after maybe 30-45 minutes the computer reboots back to Windows 7 undoing modifications and a window pops saying :

    We couldn't install Windows 10

    0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATE operation.

I can copy/paste the end of the 729 lines long file from C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log if it helps. Don't know how useful it is since I think that lots of errors in it are not necessarily triggering the install bug.

I don't want "solutions" saying to make a clean new installation, I want to keep my files + applications + conf stuff...

Thank you in advance for any help.

    :)

Win 10 upgrade error: User profile suffix mismatch, 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

I have been trying to upgrade my Win 7 Ultimate (SP1) to Windows 10 for the past two weeks, and keep having the same problem.

When the upgrade gets to 56%, the system reboots again, Restores to Windows 7 and shows the following error:

    0x800707E7 - 0X3000D

The installation failed in the First Boot phase with an error during Migrate Data operation.

I have tried dozens of way to fix this, disabling and removing devices, disconnect the LAN cable so it wont download updates, going into MSCONFIG and Disable the Services and Startup items, going into Regedit and removing the OLE.

I am doing up upgrade with a boot DVD from the ISO file, but also tried directly from the HDD.

People have said to look in the Panther dir and look for errors in the setuperr.log file. This is what is at the very end:

Error during migrate data operation - Upgrading Win 7 to 10

Failed in FIRST_BOOT Phase - error during migrate data operation when upgrading to Windows 10 from 7

My win version is Windows 7 Build 7601 Service Pack 1

As the title suggests. I'm attempting to upgrade to Windows 10 from 7 with Media Creation tool.

The actual Error code is: 0x800707E7- 0x3000D "The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation"

    It happens when:

    • I attempt to upgrade this PC with all apps and files saved through create windows media tool.
    • It will restart once and then get to 57% and then restart and says it's Undoing changes made to your computer

    Things I have tried:

Removing all unnecessary USB devices (All I have are my mouse and keyboard).

    • I have 200GB free
    • disabled windows defender
    • file scan for corruption
    • ran microsoft diagnostic tools
    • No registry or corruption errors

I have checked Windows32/Panther/** for anythign in setuperr.log but nothing. I do have logs in setupact.log but I can't make sense of it.

Any help or where to look for crash dumps, error logs to debug this? I'm a dev but I'm not familiar with the windows ecosystem.

I also would rather not do a clean install as I have many games and configuration files set up and I do not want to have to reset them.

    Thanks for any help!

Error during migrate data operation - Upgrading Win 7 to 10

Hey, any chance you could help me out with the steps taken to get everything in order?

I'm not extremely computer literate, but I am having the exact same issue that you were having when upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (Error code 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D).

Would you be able to walk/talk me through it in layman's terms? I found out the issue but am struggling to figure out how to fix it.

    Thanks in advance.
