Win 7 Virtualization before Win 10 upgrade

I have a weird situation. We are accountants whose database is MS Access 2003 that runs under Win 7. To secure my clients' data we are upgrading to Win 10 for security's sake. There is a possibility that Access 2003 won't work in Win 10 even in compatibility mode (if that's what it is called). I've also read that MS may update Win 10 one day and Access will not work. We can't compile the 2003 version to a higher level so we are stuck with 2003.

Is there a way to virtualize a Win 7 machine with Access 2003 before we upgrade to 10 and then put that VM on our network server and get access to it from our Win 10 workstations? The Server is Server 2012 which we will probably upgrade next year. If this plan works, would RDP to the Win 7 VM allow multiple users to access the db at the same time? This database is our backbone - can't survive without it. Thanks for any ideas...

    :)

Recommend hardware changes for upgrading from Win-7 to Win-10

    Bree
I followed your suggestions (2nd Aug 19) for installing Win-10. Made the bootable flash drive successfully through the media creation tool. But when I attempted to upgrade and activate to Win-10 (64 bit) from within Win-7 (Pro-32 bit), I got the following error message:

Error # OxC1900101-Ox20017. " The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation"

I read the diagnostics under this error number and carried out the proposed fixes, i.e. update Win-7, uninstall Malwarebyte antivirus, disconnect all external hardware, e.g. printer, scanner, external hard drives. I then tried to repeat the steps to do the upgrade through the Win-10 bootable flash drive as before. Got the same error message.
Appreciate any further comments and suggestions as to (a) what does a failure in the SAFE_OS during boot operation mean, (b) what can I do to solve it. Is this anything to do with the hardware in my computer? I listed these in my first posting above.
    Thanks for any help

Win 7 and Win 10 on network

I have home network with separate modem, router, and WAP's. My Windows 7 computer does NOT list the Windows 10 computers on network computer list but the Windows 10 computers network list DO list the Windows 7 computer.

Turned off firewalls, gave permissions, shared drives. Nothing allows Win 7 computer to access the Win 10 computers.

    Any suggestions for a fix?

Win 7 Virtualization before Win 10 upgrade

Using Old Win 7 license to Upgrade to Win 10

I have a PC that came with Win 7 and I upgraded it to Win 10 when the upgrade was free.

I now have a new PC that shipped with Win 10. On the new PC I will be installing Vmware so I have a virtual machine. How can I use the Win 7 license from the old PC (and then upgrade it to Win 10) to install it on the new PC virtual PC?

If needed I can uninstall Windows from the old PC.
