    Win 8.1 to Win 10 upgrade error 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

    Hello,

I have been trying to upgrade my Windows 8.1, upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 multiple times and it always has the same error. I don't have an Nvidia graphics card, never had one on this PC, as this seems to a common issue. I've tried uninstalling McAfee, disabling the firewall, uninstalling large apps/games. There is only one account/user on this PC and plenty of space on the C drive around 50GB.

I don't want to make a clean install of Windows ideally. I'd like to keep my files and apps.

So the install/upgrade of Windows goes on, it reboots 2 times the computer with always lots of loading and installing percentages, the usual stuff. And then after maybe 30-45 minutes the computer reboots back to Windows 8.1 undoing modifications and a window pops saying :

    We couldn't install Windows 10

    0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATE operation.

This is the end of the C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log. I don't know if this helps or not.

    the questions below:

    • What is the make and model of the PC?

      .
    2. In Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and hit
      Enter.
    3. Now expand the Display adapters,
      Printers
, Sound, video and game controllers.

    6. Close the device manager window and then restart the PC.

Once the above steps performed, then we would recommend you to download

    Windows 10 1909 version
installation media (ISO) using the media creation tool on the desktop of the PC and then refer this article by PaulSey to run an

    Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade error (0x800707E7 - 0x3000D)

    Hello,

I'll try to answer to your question the best I can.

    My computer infos :

    - Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50 GHz

    - ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-V LX Rev X.0x

    - Bios version : 1106 (27/07/2012)

    - 16Go RAM

While trying to fix this error by myself I uninstalled my antivirus, so no I don't have any.

And no I don't have a Windows 10 license, I only have my Windows 7 Home Premium license.

My computer has the system requirements. My main SSD has 700Go free space.

I will try to install windows 10 on a clean boot as you mentioned. But the other sugestions I already did them. I'll post back here when I've done the clean boot.

    Thank you, best regards,
