    Windows defender update error. Error code: 0x80240438

    I've been unable to update windows defender, Windows update doesn't work either. the error message suggests that windows defender is unable to connect to the internet even tho i'm online. Please how do i resolve this update issues? thank you.

    When I try to update my window defender.

    Is there anyway that I can fix this error?

    I have the same problem: Windows 10 Defender no updating. Error code 0x80240438. Windowsupdate service is running.

    I also - like Centril - had the browser hijack after installing Chrome from the wrong source. Defender removed the malware.
